Two Hearts Full of Dreams

We are Mark and Ryan, and we have embarked upon an extraordinary journey – the journey of adoption. Our hearts have been filled with hope, anticipation, and at times, a fair share of nerves. Today, we want to share our emotions as we enter the introduction phase, a step that brings us closer to meeting our little one, who will soon become the centre of our universe.

The adoption process has been nothing short of a rollercoaster. From the paperwork and interviews to the waiting, it tested our patience and resilience. There were days of excitement when we received news about potential matches and days of disappointment when things didn’t work out. But through it all our determination never wavered and our dream of becoming parents only grew stronger.

And now, here we are, on the brink of meeting our child for the very first time. The excitement is palpable. Every little preparation – from setting up the nursery to picking out tiny clothes – feels like a step toward a dream we’ve held onto for so long. We can’t believe that our home will soon be filled with the laughter and cries of our little one, and that we’ll be a family before Christmas. It’s a dream we're afraid to wake up from, yet one we can't wait to live.

However, amid the excitement, there is also a healthy dose of nerves. Parenthood is a journey into the unknown. A mix of joy, responsibility, and challenges. We find ourselves questioning if we'll be good enough, if we'll make the right decisions, and if we can provide the love and care our child deserves. But isn’t this nervousness a part of every new parent’s experience? It's a sign of the immense love we already have for our child. A love that fuels our determination to be the best parents we can be.

As we step into this introduction phase, we're reminding ourselves that love has no boundaries. Our little one may not share our DNA but they will undoubtedly share our hearts. We’re ready to embrace the unknown, to learn, to stumble, and to grow alongside our child. We know that every laugh, every tear, and every milestone will be a cherished part of our family story.

So here we are, on the cusp of parenthood, our hearts full of dreams and anticipation. We're choosing to focus on the love that binds us together and the incredible journey that lies ahead. We look forward to meeting more Proud 2 b Parent families as we start to attend the mid-week meet-ups in the New Year with our little one.
