Being Our True Selves: Our LGBT+ Family Holiday Adventure!
We're Mark and Chris, the two dads of the coolest twins around, Alex and Jamie! We just got back from the most incredible family holiday, and we can't wait to spill the beans about our unforgettable adventure.
Going on a holiday as an LGBT+ family brought up a ton of worries. We were concerned about being outed, fearing judgment from others about our family structure. We tried to keep a low profile, hoping to avoid any negative vibes. But let us tell you, sometimes life has a way of surprising you!
Guess what? Our worries totally melted away! We found ourselves in a place where nobody batted an eye about our family. In fact, people embraced us just the way we are. It was mind-blowing! We realized that being genuine and open about our family was not just okay, it was celebrated.
Once we felt the acceptance, it was like a weight off our shoulders. We didn't have to hide or pretend to be someone we're not. Our kids, Alex and Jamie, thrived in this environment. They felt comfortable and confident, surrounded by love and support from the awesome folks we met.
This trip taught us something huge: love conquers all. No matter who you are or whom you love, there are places and people out there who will accept you with open arms. We learned that living your truth not only feels amazing but also paves the way for others to do the same.
Our family holiday wasn't just a break; it was a celebration of being our true selves. We hope our story inspires other LGBT+ families to embrace who they are. Yeah, there are challenges, but there's also a world out there waiting to welcome you with love and acceptance.
As we settle back into our daily routine, we do it with wonderful memories of a much needed break
Loads of love and acceptance,
Mark, Chris, Alex, and Jamie 🌈
